When I finally decided to entrust my wish to KANJI TOKYO, what I felt most of all was a sense of calm certainty. It was no longer a matter of careful deliberation, but an inner clarity that this step was right.
While writing the email, I felt a kind of inner excitement that I had not experienced before. There was no doubt, no hesitation — rather a heightened sense of awareness. In that moment, it became clear to me: now is the time. And that realization felt good.
At the same time, I was aware that with this step I was letting go of responsibility. Something was being set in motion whose course I would no longer be able to fully control. That thought carried a sense of excitement — but in a positive way. Not unsettling, but alive.
I was able to let go of this responsibility because there was trust. Trust in the process, in the person on the other side, and in the attitude from which this character would be created.
In this way, an inner conviction became an action — calm, conscious, and without pressure.

Through this report, I quietly received a deep sense of the feelings and resolve with which Danny took this step. With this moment, I accept Danny’s “GAMAN” into my hands—not only as a calligrapher, but as one human being to another.
To honor the trust he placed in me without hesitation, I will face this work with my whole being and bring the quiet strength that lives within Danny into the brush.
I do not see this as a simple act of creation, but as a formal commission for a single character that will be etched into his life.
