We will create calligraphy works for print and video and submit the data.

CONTENTS

We create data with optimal specifications for prints of calligraphy works, videos, and animations (for production delivery).

MADARA’s calligraphy works are available for animation, film, music videos, print design, and commercial use.
Each piece is captured and color-corrected in high resolution to preserve the unique texture and depth of Japanese ink.

🎥For Animation / Motion Graphics

We provide transparent-background and high-resolution data suitable for visual production.
Each stroke and ink shade retains its organic motion, ideal for cinematic or artistic sequences.

  • Available formats: TIFF (16bit) / PNG (transparent)
  • Resolution: 4K–6K (adjustable upon request)
  • Color profile: Rec.709 / Adobe RGB
  • Optional: separated ink layers or effect-ready assets

💻For Print & Design Use

High-resolution data suitable for posters, covers, and exhibition printing.
The fine gradation of ink and texture of washi paper are precisely adjusted for print reproduction.

  • Available formats: TIFF / PSD (CMYK conversion available)
  • Resolution: 6000px+ (350 dpi equivalent)
  • Color profile: Adobe RGB / CMYK
  • Compatible with both small and large-scale printing

Data collection method: High-resolution photography or scanning

A: Camera shot (RAW)

🧩Resolution: 6000px x 4000px (350dpi)

  • Lighting: 45° angle, two softboxes
  • Background: Gray or white
  • Shoot on a tripod with zero distortion

Advantages: Because the texture (paper fibers and ink shading) comes out during filming, it becomes easier to treat the calligraphy as a “living piece” on video. It is also possible to create large works, allowing for the creation of powerful pieces with dynamic tones.
Disadvantages: The works to be created are created by stretching calligraphy paper on an F30-size canvas and removing any wrinkles, so depending on the content, this can take significantly longer than an A3 scanned work. It will take approximately 2-7 days.

B: Scanner import

🧩Resolution: 6000px x 4000px (350-1200dpi)

  • Flattened using a special heat press to remove wrinkles

Advantages: Since the work is small, up to A3 size, it is possible to keep production costs down. Because the work is small, it can be delivered in 1-2 days. It is suitable for urgent deliveries.
Disadvantages: Calligraphy works are all about the texture, gloss, and bleeding of the ink, but scanners can sometimes make the images appear too flat. Recommended for works that do not require texture. Since scanning size is limited to A3 size, large works with dynamic tones cannot be accommodated.

  • Commercial use of product images for video, animation, advertising, publishing, etc.
