We will create a one-of-a-kind calligraphy piece for you. We will convert your English name or a favorite phrase into “kanji” and turn it into an art panel, a hanging scroll, or a tenugui (hand towel). We will then deliver your one-of-a-kind piece to the counter at your hotel.

Introducing calligraphy artist MADARA

Madara began studying calligraphy at the age of five in 1977, winning numerous awards from an early age. At the age of 28, she discovered graphology and adopted the art of “graphology,” a method of improving one’s personality and fortune through the way one writes. About the types of calligraphy works to be produced

All prices are exclusive of tax. If the item is shipped to a hotel in Japan or if the customer picks it up in Japan, a separate 10% consumption tax will be added. The total amount to be paid will be as follows:

Artwork price + consumption tax (10%) + shipping (Delivery from the next day onwards ¥850 – ¥2,500)

Depending on the location, we can deliver to your hotel on the same day within Tokyo, Chiba, Kanagawa, Saitama, Yamanashi, and Shizuoka prefectures. In this case, transportation costs will be added separately. (Additional shipping fee of ¥10,000 to ¥20,000 for same-day delivery)

This is a “name calligraphy” in which your name is converted into kanji, or a calligraphy piece in which you write your favorite words. It will be shipped in a tube, so there is no need to worry about it being bent.

Timing of sending the work (The shortest shipping time is 2-3 hours after receiving your order.)

Depending on the content of your order, we can create and package it in as little as two to three hours. It will then be shipped to your hotel via courier, so it can arrive at your hotel counter the next day. While this requires consultation, we will consider same-day delivery whenever possible, and if possible, we will deliver it the same day. (Shipping fees not included.) It depends on the content of the work, but for works that are only calligraphy, the shortest time is 1-2 hours. After the work has dried, it will be packed.

Regarding shipping, if you would like your item to be delivered by the day after your order date, I will need to bring it to the shipping company by 6:00 PM, so please place your order as early as possible.

MADARA will contact the hotel front desk by phone and make arrangements to deliver the item to you safely, so please rest assured and wait until it is delivered.

FAQ

What hotels can you deliver to?

We can deliver to hotels, inns, serviced apartments, and other facilities in Tokyo and major cities that allow collection at the front desk. When making a reservation, please let us know the name of the hotel, the guest’s name, and the check-in date. If the front desk is not available, we will contact you at the time of delivery, so we would appreciate it if you could come to the entrance.

Can I have my order delivered to the hotel if I order from overseas?

Yes, it is possible. We will deliver to your hotel in Japan. If you are ordering from overseas, please enter your accommodation information in English.

How far in advance should I order?

Please place your order at least 2-3 days before your desired arrival date. Depending on the production status of the work and the delivery area, same-day delivery may be possible, so please contact us if you are in a hurry. We can also accommodate same-day production and delivery if delivery is possible in your area. (Same-day delivery fees are available.)

Can I have it delivered to the hotel as a gift?

Yes, it is possible. We will deliver the artwork to your partner’s accommodation as a gift. Gift wrapping and message cards are also available (additional fees apply).

How are the artworks packaged?

It is packed in a special package that is designed to withstand shocks and bending, making it suitable for carrying in a suitcase.

Can I have my artwork sent to my home or overseas after I leave the hotel?

Yes, we can also redeliver within Japan or overseas. Shipping costs will be quoted separately.

How can I pay?

Advance payment is possible via credit card, PayPal, or bank transfer. A payment URL will be generated and sent to you by email, so you can pay on the spot using your mobile phone. Cash payments are not accepted at the hotel. If you are in a hurry, we recommend paying by credit card. We use Stripe as our payment system.

Can I include a request (words/theme) in the work?

Yes. MADARA will create each piece based on a special message or theme (e.g., 愛”love,” 祈”prayer,” 生命”life,” etc.). Please let us know your preference when placing your order.

Can I return an item delivered to the hotel?

Due to the nature of custom-made products, we generally do not accept returns or exchanges. However, we will promptly deal with any damage that may occur during delivery.
