The documentary filming has been successfully completed

Over the past few days, I experienced something truly irreplaceable.
Italian filmmaker Luca Epifani visited Japan to film a short documentary about my calligraphy and the journey that shaped it.

What Luca captured with his camera was not “technique,” but “spirit.”
The silence before I face the paper,
the breath I take when I stand before the sea,
the memories of the earthquake and my path to recovery,
the calligraphy that carries prayer,
and all the colors—both light and dark—that make me who I am today.
He gently brought these invisible elements to the surface.

We filmed at the beach in Hiratsuka, in my studio, and through the landscapes of my own memories.
There were moments when the memories of the earthquake returned so vividly that words failed me.
Even so, I held the brush and wrote in the sea breeze—
just as the spirit of “Mui”, the courage to move forward while carrying fear, has taught me.

I am truly looking forward to seeing how Luca interprets the world of “MADARA” through his lens.
The final piece will take some time to complete, and I will share the release date once everything is ready.

Please look forward to it, and thank you for your patience.

To everyone who supported this project, to Luca,
and to all who continue to encourage me—
I offer my deepest gratitude.
